I’m so excited about the new runDisney race events that were announced! Here’s a little bio of my running… I ran my first half marathon at the Walt Disney World® Half Marathon in 2006. Then in 2009, runDisney created their inaugural Princess Half Marathon, which I ran in. In 2010, I ran in the inaugural Wine & Dine Half Marathon Relay, which now they have turned into the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. The Wine & Dine Half Marathon is a great event where the race is at night and then when you finish, you get to enjoy the after party at the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. The Princess Half Marathon celebrated it’s 5th anniversary this past February, and since I have run all five races, I was deemed a Perfect Princess by Walt Disney World. This is a very special title to me, especially since there are only 324 of us. I must say that I am partial to the Princess Half Marathons, however, next year, my friend Kim and I will be traveling to Anaheim, CA to run in the Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland® Resort, which I am out of my skin excited about!
- Disney Princess Enchanted 10K
- Disney Glass Slipper Challenge
If you complete the Disney Princess Enchanted 10k (6.2 miles) and the Princess Half Marathon (13.1 miles), a total of 19.3 miles, you will be awarded the the Disney Glass Slipper Challenge Medal.
Also in runDisney’s blog, they announced that there is going to be a special edition Coast-to-Coast Race Challenge: “Also new in 2014 is a special edition Coast-to-Coast Race Challenge Medal for runners participating in the 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland® Resort in January and the 2014 Princess Half Marathon five weeks later at Walt Disney World® Resort. Finishers receive the coveted medal featuring the likeness of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse with a pink overlay and lanyard.”
